Apps
Candyce Stapen created FamilyiTrips, a company that crafted user-friendly apps to make trip planning easy by pinpointing exhibits and experiences best for young kids, grade schoolers and teens, by showcasing little-known gems, and by allowing you to create a personalized itinerary that matched your family’s needs. Stapen produced the apps, wrote DC With Kids, and worked with travel expert Deb Geigis Berry who wrote Boston With Kids as well as New York City Family Guide.
FamilyiTrips apps were available from 2010 to 2014.

Praise for FamilyiTrips’ series of apps:
The apps…allow users to nimbly explore listings, including shops, hotels, and restaurants. But they also offer filters through which to explore the cities: by budget, by activities that are ‘like a local’, and by attractions according to age group,” – The New York Times

“This travel app brings DC to your fingertips,” WUSA-TV, Washington, DC
“This thorough app has more than 500 entries about things to do as a family. The app divides the attractions into categories so you can easily find the perfect thing to do on your visit. Some of the categories include the following: Top 11, Special (think sleepovers, tours, festivals and events) Ages, Free and Play Outdoors. There is even a category called “Plan Ahead” that lists things which require advance planning. I thought this was an extremely helpful category addition.”
“Each attraction has an entry that includes details, a map and contact information. The details are well thought out and thorough, there is nothing skimpy about this information,” www.iphonemom.com
